Choosing the Life partner

If your eyes are sweet you will like all people in the world and if your tongue is sweet all people in the world will like you.

Marriage is about choosing one among equals. Irrespective of our expectation about beauty, personality, ability, etc, as a whole all have got almost similar character. Only the degree varies. Instead of wasting time in choosing the best partner, better spend in shaping them to our expectations - post marriage.

Move...Move...Move...!!!

There is much to learn from a pair of walking legs; the foot which is forward has no pride and the foot that is behind has no shame; they both know their situation will change.

In our day to day life, we want many things but expect them to come to us on its own. Unless we ask for it, we’ll never have it. If we don’t move our legs, we’ll remain where we’re. Even if it is half a step at a time, it’s better to be on the move rather than waiting.

Everything has a place & Purpose

If we desire to blossom like a rose in the garden, then we must learn the art of adjusting with the thorns, because difficulties make us shine.

(@ Theosophical society, Adyar, Chennai)
Every creation of nature has got a purpose behind it. If the same creature is displaced to a different location and expected to serve any other purpose, naturally it will fail. Similarly if only we understand our abilities and try to work with our strength instead of wants, success is imminent.

What is Partiotism?

If a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference. They are the father, the mother and the teacher. ~ Abdul Kalam
 (@ Mumbai, Arabian Sea)
We all love our Mother country. But Patriotism doesn’t need any advertisement. However instead of just expressing it through words or display, if we could show it in positive actions resulting in development of motherland, it would be much better.

Learn from the Sky

Nothing is too high for a man to reach, only if they climb with care and confidence.
- Hans Christian Andersen
(@ Marina)
The huge, endless Sky teaches us many things. Great people have set their character by idolising the sky in order for others to reach. Let us learn to keep our mind bright as sky filled with light and heat.

Heritage value

When we are young, we admired clever people. When we become old, we admire kind people.
 (@ Egmore station)
For the new age group, the heritage value of older generation is always an attraction. But what they need to understand is that, respect, recognition & care should be given when the person actually needs it. Giving it past its expiry date won’t serve any purpose but to add glamour.

Feel Blessed

It is not the receiver that is blessed, but it is the giver. Be thankful that you are allowed to exercise your power of benevolence and mercy in the world, and thus become pure and perfect.
(@ Marin Beach)
So, It’s real hot summer and while we complain about sweltering mid day Heat, persisting evening heat, shortage of Electricity, etc, just have a minute of thought about those who doesn’t have even the least privilege of having a hut for shelter and feel content about how blessed we are!

Live it..!! Enjoy it..!!

Our most basic instinct is not for survival but for family. Most of us would give our own life for the survival of a family member, yet we lead our daily life too often as if we take our family for granted.
 (@ ECR resort Beach, Chennai)
For many of us, life is meant to be for earning money and reaching a high position in career. In trying to achieve this professional dream, they mostly overlook the necessity of spending quality time with their family. We conveniently forget that Life is meant for enjoying with family and whatever job we do is only an aiding tool to make it happen.

Story behind Glory

The loftier the building, the deeper must the foundation be laid.
- Thomas Kempis

(Hawa Mahal @ Jaipur)
This beautiful architecture was a confinement for ladies to prevent them from being seen by men while witnessing the proceedings outside. Such was the restriction they endured despite being royal personality. This proves once again that behind every glory, there always exists a poignant journey.

Look from different Perspective

If there is any one secret of success, it lies in the ability to get the other person's point of view and see things from his angle as well as your own.

They say, it’s all about Perspective. Joy or lacklustre is not with the subject but it lies in the way we see it. Trouble or opportunity is not decided by the volume of the issue but in the angle of our view. Instead of changing our outlook, if we try to change the way we look, we can benefit a lot.

Which is a Noble Profession?

Remember that you are needed. There is at least one important work to be done that will not be done unless you do it.

It’s not that only farmers or doctors or Society helpers are lending a hand in serving the country. Every job has its own challenges and social responsibilities with a varied degree. If only we start viewing our own profession as a mode of serving our country, we can definitely do wonderful deeds with the present occupation itself.

The First Teacher

A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image.

For every Child, Mother is always the First Teacher. She is the teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness to the Child. She is the window through which the Child sees and learns the World. It doesn’t matter whether she is a University top ranker or a daily wager, but for every Child, Mother’s heart is the first classroom.

Enjoy first, Review next

Slow down and enjoy life. It is not only the scenery you miss by going fast but you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.

When we see an illustration, very often our tendency is to start analysing it immediately instead of observing and relishing it first. Do not worry about whether or not the sun will rise. Be prepared to enjoy it. We should try to change our eyes to start liking the World around us as it is to begin with, before trying to find out reasons for that.

Encourage the Younger generation

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says ... “I'll try again tomorrow”.

Children don’t have fear, hence they don’t hesitate trying new things however challenging they are. If only we don’t restrict them now and curb their instincts, we can develop a great next generation fearless to be innovative and ability to reach new destinations.

Times stops when we're with Friends

Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.

Friendship is a marvellous relationship. Any time spent with Friends is happy times. Right from very early age, we needed friends. Lucky if you get a Friend who happens to be thinking in your frequency. Any place is affable and glorious whew we’re with those kinds of friends.

Art for Healthy Start

In a competition it is not about who is faster or who is stronger it is about who can get up when they others can't.

Many of the practices set by our ancestors are mostly aimed at healthy living styles. Laying Rangoli (kolam) is an art to start the day Healthy but it is slowly losing its sheen these days. During my childhood days I remember seeing Ladies putting up many huge Rangoli arts in front of every house at very early morning hours. I hardly see any such activities now. May be our inquisitiveness have shifted to somewhere else!!

FLY above the rest

Excellence has always been achieved by those who dared to believe that something inside them is superior than the circumstances around them.

Not everyone gets opportunity in life to rise above the level they belong. And most importantly not all who gets that opportunity has that fortitude to take it. All that the rest can do is envy those who dare and flies above the rest.

Spread Happiness

If at all we have to fall in our life, let’s fall for a purpose.

Try to spread happiness wherever you go, this will not only benefit those around you, but will benefit you as well. Serving others is a way of attaining bliss. Our society has become more of “Me & my family” kind. It takes some effort to change that process. But the happiness we attain will make it worth the effort.

Secret of Success

Love does not need gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction.

Family life is all about understanding the partner’s weakness and compensating it positively. Both would be having different backgrounds, attitude, thinking, growth style, responsibilities, etc. Instead of jabbing at their pride, if only we could support them encouragingly, Victory is ours.

In search of Honey

When you go in search of honey you must expect to be stung by bees.

Please don’t single out Bees for wandering from flower to flower in search of Honey. Every human has a bee inside them. The honey being money, job satisfaction, career development, social stratum and so on. The only difference is that Bees are doing it for others to enjoy whereas our paradigm is mostly self-centred.
